Ca la Bionda

Ca La Bionda estate is located in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of the historic area of the same name.

The company was founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani. The company owns 29 hectares of land planted on slopes at an altitude ranging from 150 to 300 meters, with an East to Southeast orientation.

For four generations, viticulturists and winemakers have been dedicated to their craft. They share a natural philosophy towards cultivation, harvesting, and vinification of their products, paying special attention to the natural drying phases of the grapes destined for their top wines: Recioto and Amarone.

They primarily use 5,000-liter foudres for aging their wines. The winery is certified for organic and biodynamic farming. Valpolicella is extremely famous for its star wine produced with the “appassimento” method: Amarone. It’s a style of wine concentrated in fruit, alcohol, tannins, and sugars.

Ca La Bionda aims to make wines that reflect the typicity of the region, using indigenous and traditional grapes but with a more subtle, elegant style that pairs well with food. Their wines are impressively delicate and complex.

Italy

Italy is one of the main wine producers along with France and Spain, with over 670,000 hectares of vineyards throughout the country.

Its rich viticultural history dates back over 2,700 years, and Italian wines compete globally in luxury categories such as Barolo, Bolgheri, Brunello di Montalcino, and Chianti Classico.

The climate and diversity of terroir contribute to the quality of wines, from the mountainous north to the volcanic lands in the south. Italy boasts over 800 varieties of indigenous grapes, but Italian wines share a fruity character, high acidity, and concentration of tannins.

Wine classification includes Table Wines, IGT, DOC, and DOCG, reflecting tradition and quality control. Viticulture in Italy is passed down from generation to generation, maintaining a passion for wine.
