The Founder of Climats
Tanguy de Bodinat was born in Paris, and during his third year of undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Panthéon – Assas, he had the opportunity to do an exchange program at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). This experience left a profound impact on him and sparked his desire to live abroad, specifically in Latin America.
Upon returning to France, he entered the Bordeaux Management School in 2009. His passion for the world of wine led him to work in various wineries in the region. As part of his master’s degree, he had the opportunity to work at Barón Philippe de Rothschild France Distribution in Paris.
In 2012, he decided to move to Mexico and served as National Sales Manager at Interamericana, one of the most prominent wine importers in the country at that time. He stayed there for three years, gaining a deep understanding of the Mexican wine market. He recognized the impressive level of gastronomy and hospitality throughout this beautiful country and the opportunity/lack of quality wines from small French producers to match it.
In 2016, Tanguy founded Climats, marking the beginning of our company’s story with the importation of three labels from Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, a prestigious winery that was not yet present in Mexico.
